LTV Steel Mill
(Hennepin IL)
I-180 is a short expressway in north central IL, branching off of I-80 west of LaSalle. It's primary purpose was to serve a huge steel mill in Hennepin that was an important defense contractor. It has fallen into a bit of disrepair lately, as it is not as heavily used as it once was. Should this become part of the proposed Chicago-Peoria highway it will certainly be resurfaced.
