Wyoming uses unique markers for Alternate routes, a small "ALT" under the numerals as shown here in Cody. Wyoming has one of the nicest state route markers as well.
Utah does not always post its US routes that follows Interstates. But, since rules are made to be broken, they did so on US-89. They even had the grace to use wooden shield shaped signs even larger than the oversized (36x36 inch) I-70 markers.

Pioneer VIllage in Mendon NE is an eclectic collection of what many people would call junk, but old Harold thought it was cool stuff. Among the cars, boats, and the largest living collection of outboard motors, is but a single route marker, from the nearby NE-10. This marker is from the 1930's or 40's, and is about a complete oppisite of the current marker. |

Thru Scottsbluff NE had a "City US-26" on it. It has since been renumbered back to the old NE-71, but there are still a couple old "City Route" markers. |
US-12 in Idaho is the Lewis and Clark Trail. This follows the route these explorers took. US-12 enters Washington at Lewsiton ID, and Clarkston WA. Idaho uses brown route markers for historic or scenic routes. Other markers are standard black and white. State route markers do the same thing.
